The 2016 disagreement between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders over the best energy mix to help us get to a 100% renewable future sure does seem antiquated these days with climate change deniers and fossil fuel interests at the helm in Washington. This week on Sea Change Radio, though, we get an update on the continued divisions within the Democratic Party from Axios energy reporter, Amy Harder.
In a recent New York Times op-ed piece entitled, “Corporations Will Inherit the Earth,” Frank Bruni muses about the role of corporations in society at a time that the federal government is -- to use his phrase -- “a bumbling klutz.” Bruni asserts, “It can’t manage health care. It can’t master infrastructure. It can’t fund itself for more than tiny increments of time. It can barely stay open.” In contrast, he says, America’s corporations are operating “with an innovation and can-do ambition solely absent in Washington.”

Consumers Energy and CMS Energy today announced Consumers Energy’s plans to meet Michigan’s energy needs reducing carbon emissions by 80 percent and no longer using coal to generate electricity by 2040.
