In total, TD's Green Bond funded 19 projects in Canada with over $4.5 million in natural capital generated, providing both direct and indirect economic, environmental and social benefits. The projects developed contribute to a low-carbon economy in various sectors—green infrastructure and sustainable land use, energy-efficient buildings and management, as well as renewable and low-carbon energy development and related infrastructure.

As part of 170 hours of celebration to mark the brewer’s 170 years anniversary, Carlsberg has built a ZERO Carbon Windmill Bar at the historical Carlsberg District in Copenhagen.
The bar is powered completely by an integrated windmill and in true Danish-style, an attached bicycle which consumers can use to generate enough power to pour their beer in case of no wind. Following the recent Carlsberg advert starring Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen biking through Copenhagen, the sustainability innovation sends a clear signal to Carlsberg’s Danish provenance.

Finalists for Louisiana’s Cox Conserves Heroes program were announced today, and the public is being asked to vote for the winner now through Sept. 14. The Stockholm Junior Water Prize brings together young innovators from around the world who have created new solutions to growing water challenges. This year, a record 33 countries have participated, presenting new solutions for water treatment, agriculture and water reuse.

Trees growing near this enormous system can pose several problems. Kids climb trees and can be exposed to dangerous electrical lines. Tree care workers and homeowners might not know the danger that these lines pose to them as they do their daily work.
The Bacardi Bottling Corporation in Jacksonville, Fla., welcomes wildlife of all types on its 92-acre industrial site. Through its eco-conscious efforts to help pollinators thrive, the bottling plant works to fulfill its Good Spirited sustainability initiative of putting back at least as much as they take away. The campus’ animal-friendly conservation efforts include a monarch butterfly habitat, blue martin bird houses, and bat houses, with a plan of adding honeybee hives in the future.
